There’s a new face at Stephen Eve Financial Planning – meet Sally Jackson, who joins us as a Chartered Financial Planner.
Sally's approach to investing and financial planning is grounded in the same philosophy Ben and Danielle have as founders of the business, so it is a pleasure to welcome her on board.
She brings over a decade of experience advising clients as part of both local and national advice businesses. Her independent, evidence-based style makes her an asset to our team and clients alike.
To give you a glimpse of the person behind the advice, Sally has shared a short Q&A about her journey and what inspires her work.
This is a whole story in itself as I have had a range of different jobs and careers over the years.
I studied Mathematics and Sports Science at university, working in further education for a while as a guidance and support tutor and later as a lecturer in the sports department.
I then worked for the City Council supporting young people without a school place, which was a very challenging and rewarding experience.
After this, I moved to a newly created role within the police called a Partnership Analyst. It involved working with partnership agencies such as the local authority and fire and health service, using my analytical skills to look at large datasets and map out any problems faced, why they were happening, and how we could work together to solve them.
I thoroughly enjoyed the work, and appreciated the opportunity to work at strategic level, presenting to senior management across various organisations. However, my maths background sparked an interest in finance and I sought a different challenge.
Whilst at a networking event, I met a mortgage adviser who encouraged me to do my first set of exams and I ended up taking redundancy from the police in 2016 to start my career in Financial Services.
I soon completed my exams to become diploma-qualified and advise on pensions and investments, then continued to study to become Chartered in 2021 and was awarded my Fellowship in 2023. Having a strong technical knowledge and keeping up to date with professional development is important to me.
I have taken quite a bit of time to find the right fit. Working in a range of different firms, I have learnt what a good client experience looks like.
It's imperative to me that my clients are looked after and that I'm confident the team behind me cares as much about them as I do.
I have considered many different companies and options, but Stephen Eve truly aligns with my values and my expectations of customer service.
The team are friendly, knowledgeable, very capable, willing to learn, and go above and beyond for their clients.
I want to continue to provide a high quality service to clients, making sure I fully understand their situation, and working with them to achieve their goals.
I am also keen to mentor trainee advisers and share my skills and experience to help others progress in the industry.
A range of family, friends and colleagues. Having supportive people around you who encourage you is really important.
I have always had a good work ethic but struggled to find my ‘thing’ before moving into the finance industry, so I'm glad I was encouraged to make the change.
Earning my Fellowship, as it is the highest level of professional achievement in our industry.
I find client wins rewarding, too. One of my most memorable was demonstrating to a couple that they could retire from work, purchase a boat, and enjoy life without worrying about money.
Gaining the trust of clients, watching them implement the changes that you have recommended, then seeing it having such a positive impact on their life is really fulfilling.
I live in Ruddington with my partner, Claudine, and our dog, Neville, having lived in West Bridgford for 20 years before that.
Sports have always been a big part of my life, but I suffered an injury last year and have been recovering since surgery in August. That unfortunately meant I had to retire from Hockey, but I have just returned to Padel, which I love.
I have a home gym and try to work out most days, plus walk Neville regularly. I like to listen to audible books whilst exercising, so get through quite a lot!
I don’t come across too badly on the TV! Claudine and I featured on the BBC 1 Garden Rescue in January 2026 and I was relieved to find that I didn’t embarrass myself too much… but that is it for TV stardom!
We’re excited to welcome Sally and can’t wait for her to bring her expertise and perspective to Stephen Eve. As she settles in and connects with our clients and partners, we’re confident they’ll quickly appreciate the positive impact she brings.
As always, if you have any questions about the team and how we can help you, send us an email or pick up the phone.
